The Clay Center Amateur Radio Club hosted some scouts and non-scout amateurs for the 2014 Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA). The CC-ARC is a good local resource for any scout groups who want to participate in JOTA or earn a radio badge.

The CC-ARC June 2014 newsletter is now out. We have switched back to using PDF files instead of HTML emails to help provide a better newsletter experience, make them easier for us to maintain, and to allow all the back issues to be on our website. The CC-ARC Radio Room reopens in April and May on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm. Members of the club are welcome to come use the radios and socialize, and to share stories, ideas, and expertise. The Radio Room is next to the observatory on the top floor of the Clay Center at Dexter Southfield, 20 Newton St. Brookline. Open dates are April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and May 6, 13, 20, and 27.
The Clay Center Amateur Radio Club VE Team needs you! If you are over 18 and hold a General license or higher, please consider becoming a VE and volunteering for some of our exam sessions. It is a fun and gratifying experience. Contact Bob or Marek at information @ claycenter.org.
Volunteer Examiners (VEs) are US licensed Radio Amateurs holding a General Class license or higher, who offer their time to administer the FCC licensing exams through an FCC authorized Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (VEC) organization. The ARRL VEC is the largest VEC organization in the US.

The Annual Meeting of the Clay Center Amateur Radio Club was called together on July 23rd at 7:00 pm at the Clay Center to vote for the new leadership and other business.
After reports on the current year’s business, the membership voted to elect the recommended slate of officers: President – Alex Dills KB1SSN, VP – Nick Weber W3BER, Secretary – Bob Phinney K5TEC, Treasurer – Nick Veo KB1WLK, Educational Advisor – Connor McCann KB1UDN, and Technical Advisor – Marek Kozul KB1NCG.
The meeting continued under the new leadership and other positions of responsibility were appointed. Discussion was opened on various topics of new business, and the meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.
