Scout Leaders!  Join us for Jamboree-On-The-Air!

WHAT:
The Clay Center Amateur Radio Club is a local resource for any of your scouts who want to participate in the Jamboree-on-Jamboree On The Air 2014the-Air (JOTA) or earn a radio badge. We are located on the top floor of the Clay Center in Brookline, MA.

WHEN
Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Can’t make it to JOTA?  You may request a visit to the Clay Center on another day.

TIMES:
Schedule for one 1.5 hour block: A-10:00-11:30 am, B-11:30-1:00 pm, C-1:00-2:30 pm, and D-2:30-4:00 pm.

ACTIVITIES:
30 min on-the-air radio transmitting,
15 min “fox hunt” (hidden transmitter hunt),
15 min tour the Clay Center Observatory (solar telescopes, weather permitting),
30 min introduction to what you need to get your Radio Badge and/or FCC Technician license.IMG_4901

AGES:
Best for ages 10 and up (grades 4 and up, Webelos, etc.)

LIMITS:
Up to 12 scouts and 4 chaperones per time slot. (Note: smaller groups will be combined in a time slot to fill to capacity.)  Please limit your group size to those seriously interested in the event or working on a radio badge. A small group of interested scouts works better than bringing the entire troop.

RESTRICTIONS:
Parents can be chaperones, but please no siblings in tow. This is a special day for scouts only. No pets allowed on campus. Generally no food or gum permitted, but ask us if you would like to arrange to bring a picnic lunch to eat outside.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
The building is HP accessible, but please ask before bringing students with special needs as we may not be equipped or staffed for that at this event.

DIRECTIONS:
Click Here: We are located at the top of the Clay Center Observatory, a 5-story science building, at 20 Newton Street, Brookline MA. The entrance is opposite Larz Anderson Park.
